Vestas has received a 46MW turbine order for the Yeongwol Eco wind farm at Gangwon-do in South Korea.
The order includes 11 Vestas V136-4.2MW turbines with 132-metre hub heights, as well as a 20-year active output management 4000 service agreement.
The project is co-owned between Yeongwol Eco Wind Co and E1 Corporation and will be constructed by Daewoo E&C.
Deliveries are expected to start in the second quarter of 2022, while commissioning is planned for the fourth quarter of the same year.
Vestas Asia Pacific president and chief executive Purvin Patel said: “We remain committed to contributing to South Korea’s 2050 carbon neutrality goal.
“It is encouraging to see South Korea’s ambitions to increase the deployment of renewable energy and this project is an important step towards that goal.”
