Vestas has secured a 40MW deal in China for an undisclosed customer.
The distributed wind project comprises the supply of 12 V155-3.3 MW wind turbines, as well as a 20-year service agreement.
Deliveries are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2020, with commissioning planned for the same quarter.
The contract brings Vestas’ order intake for V155-3.3MW turbines above 300MW in China, since winning the first order less than four months ago.
The turbine combines low sound power levels with a full-scale converter, making it highly suitable for China’s growing number of distributed wind energy projects.
Distributed wind refers to the fragmented network of power grids across China, whereby smaller scale, local power grids are connected to densely populated areas.
Vestas’ other Q2 orders include eleven V136-3.45MW turbines and one V126-3.45MW turbine for a wind project in Brandenburg, Germany, for Notus Energy Plan.
Deliveries are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2021, while commissioning is planned for the third quarter of 2021.
Vestas will service the wind farm for 20 years.
The manufacturer has also secured a 76MW turbine order for two wind farms in Japan’s Aomori prefecture.
The orders are for the Chitose and Noheji Mutsuwan wind farms, which are being developed jointly by Tokyu Land Corporation and Japan Wind Development.
Delivery of the turbines will begin in the first quarter of 2021, with commissioning scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2021.
The order comprises the supply of four V117-3.45MW and six V105-3.45MW turbines, delivered in 3.6MW power optimised mode, for Chitose and eleven V105-3.45MW turbines in 3.6MW power optimised mode for Noheji Mutsuwan.
Vestas will also provide multi-year service agreements for both wind farms.
