Vestas has installed a V136 3.45MW unit at the Østerild national test centre in northern Denmark as part of the turbine’s development and verification process.
The turbine will undergo an “extensive test and verification programme before commencing full-scale production, expected in second half of 2017”, Vestas said.
The company introduced the V136 3.45MW model in September 2015.
Vestas executive vice president for technology and service solutions Anders Vedel said: “The successful installation confirms that we are on track towards full-scale production of the turbine.”
