The five Vestas turbines for the 16.5MW Tera Kora wind farm extension in Curaçao are set to sail to the Caribbean island from the Danish port of Esbjerg.
The V117 3.3MW machines were loaded onto the general cargo vessel Donaugracht this week, operator Port of Esbjerg said.
They will expand the existing 15MW Tera Kora wind farm in the island, which was commissioned by local developer NuCapital in 2012.
NuCapital started building the $36m project in June after securing funding from CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank.
Hundreds of onshore wind turbines components are exported to more than 50 destinations each year from the Danish port, its operator said.
