Vestas is to offer V120 2.0MW and 2.2MW turbines in China in response to customer demand.
The Danish manufacturer said the machines will be produced locally in Tianjin, with first deliveries expected in the third quarter of next year.
The turbines, which will have 120-metre rotors, will provide up to 13% higher energy yield a yea compared with the V110 2.2MW model, Vestas said.
Vestas China president Kebao Yang said: “Projects in China are increasingly moving to low and ultra-low wind areas in southeastern parts of the country and the V120-2.0/2.2MW turbine is specifically designed for such wind regimes.”
