Vestas has secured a 70MW turbine order from Tessa Green Energy for the Strazhitsa wind project in Bulgaria.
The company said it will supply 11 EnVentus V162-6.4MW turbines and provide a long-term Active Output Management 5000 service agreement.
Vestas added deliveries are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2027, with commissioning planned for the second and third quarters of 2027.
The project is seen as a milestone for the revival of Bulgaria’s wind energy sector after a prolonged slowdown.
Vestas has installed more than 360MW in Bulgaria since entering the market in 2007 and maintains a service organisation across Eastern Europe.
“We are proud that Tessa Green Energy has trusted us for the Strazhitsa project in Bulgaria,” said Srdan Cenic, general manager and vice president sales for Southeast Europe and Central Asia at Vestas.
“Having a new project after a long pause in the Bulgarian market is very meaningful for Vestas, and we hope it will help spark a new era for wind energy in the country.”
“Our ambition is to become a leading company in the region, and it is essential for us to work with the best global partners,” said Alexander Manolev, chief executive of Tessa Green Energy.
“We are therefore pleased to launch this project in partnership with Vestas, and we believe this marks the beginning of a strategic partnership.”
