Vestas has won an order to repower a 26MW wind farm in Germany developed by the citizen-owned Bürger-Windpark Lübke-Koog Nord.
The site at Friedrich-Wilhelm-Lübke-Koog in Schleswig-Holstein close to the North Sea currently features 13 V80-2MW turbines.
They will be replaced by nine V117-3.45MW machines, according to Vestas.
The deal includes a 20-year output management service and commissioning of the new hardware is planned for quarter three in 2017.
“The wind power plant will make an important contribution to regional value creation through tax revenue and donations, supporting local cultural and social activities,” said the developer’s general manager Arne Möbest.
