Vestas has won two turbine orders for Italian projects with a total capacity of 160MW.
One 84MW order came from Campo Eolico Ariano (CEA), a full subsidiary of the WEB Group, for the Ariano Irpino wind park, to be located in the Campania Region, Italy.
The contract includes the supply and installation of 20 V150-4.2MW wind turbines, as well as a 25-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.
Turbine delivery and commissioning are expected for the second half of 2023.
Meanwhile, ERG placed a 76MW order for the repowering of the Castelvetrano Salemi wind park, located in the Sicilia Region, Italy.
The contract includes the supply and installation of thirteen V150-4.2MW wind turbines and five V136-4.2MW wind turbines, as well as an Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.
Turbine delivery is scheduled for the first quarter of 2024, while commissioning is planned for the second quarter of 2024.
“I would like to thank CEA for the trust placed in Vestas’ 4MW platform and in our full-scope, performace-based AOM 5000 service concept. We expect the reliability of our technology and our unmatched service experience to provide long-term business case certainty and help our customer optimise its project’s energy production,” said Vestas General Manager Italy & Turkey Francesco Amati.
He added: “We are very proud to partner once again with ERG and increase our joint contribution to Italy’s energy transition. This order also underlines the versatility of Vestas’ 4MW platform and its ability to provide our customers with business case certainty in different sites.”
