Voltalia has commissioned two more wind farms totalling 211MW in the 2400MW Serra Branca renewables cluster in Brazil.
The Paris-listed company said the 152MW VSM3 comprising 44 3.5MW turbines and 59MW VSM4 project made up of 17 3.5MW machines had reached full power.
Electricity production from VSM3, sold until the end of June through short-term contracts, will be, from 1 July, sold through a 20-year fixed-price inflation-indexed contract with an unnamed electricity distribution company.
VSM4 will be 100% sold by 30 November to the utility company Copel, serving 4.8 million customers in 395 municipalities and 1113 localities, Voltalia said.
The developer will continue to operate and maintain the wind farm after its transfer to Copel.
Voltalia chief executive Sebastien Clerc said: “Our Serra Branca cluster continues to expand with the full commissioning of VSM3 and VSM4.
“It thus achieves an operating capacity of 1084MW, of which 273 are sold to third parties, to which are added 301MW under construction entirely sold to third parties.”
