Voltalia has seen its installed operational capacity exceed 2GW following the commissioning of the Sud Vannier wind farm in France.
The 23.6MW Sud-Vannier scheme, located in Haute-Marne, about 25km south-east of the city of Langres and 65km north-east of Dijon, is now fully in operation.
It will supply Leroy Merlin with renewable electricity as part of the first corporate wind PPA for a new asset ever signed in France, according to Voltalia.
Voltalia chief executive Sébastien Clerc said: “After the SSM3-6 solar power plant, which reached its full capacity at the beginning of the month with 260 megawatts injected into the grid, it is now the turn of the Sud Vannier wind farm to reach its full capacity.
“We are very pleased to announce that our fleet of operating power plants has now crossed the threshold of two gigawatts, a three-fold increase since we set the 2023 target in 2019 and a growth of 19% since 30 June.
“I would like to thank all the development, construction, operations and support teams who, over the past four years, have achieved this achievement.”
