Vortex Energy Deutschland has started foundation work for the eight-turbine 22MW Gadegast wind farm near the German town of Zahna-Elster.
The company, which has been developing the project for three years and has sold it to a large German institutional investor, is the general contractor.
It will carry out construction work until the planned conclusion in September.
Following commissioning, Vortex will also be the wind farm’s technical and commercial manager.
The wind farm will consist of GE 2.75MW units with a total height of around 200 metres.
Vortex chief operating officer Florian Leuthold said: “It is important to us that we are for investors a comprehensively competent partner, that we successfully prepare the wind farm for marketing, while meeting all statutory specifications, and that as the operational manager we remain a contact partner for at least a decade.”
