A legal challenge against a consented grid link for two North Wales wind farms has been thrown out by the High Court.
Mr Justice Parker ruled the then Communities Secretary Greg Clark followed due process last year when approving SP Manweb’s 132kV North Wales Wind Farms Connection.
Opposition group Pylon the Pressure brought the judicial review against the 11-mile overhead link to a substation in St Asaph.
The group argued the 18 pylons and overhead cables should be buried to avoid heritage impacts.
The case centred on a listed Tudor farmhouse that was home to Katheryn of Berain, known as ‘Mam Cymru’ (Mother of Wales).
The connection will link two Contracts for Difference-backed onshore wind projects: CGN Europe’s 37.6MW Brenig and Innogy UK Renewables’ 96MW Clocaenog Forest.
