Innogy UK Renewables will next week receive the first shipment of turbine components for its 57.4MW Brechfa Forest West wind farm in Wales’ Carmarthenshire.
The £100m, Renewables Obligation-backed project will feature 28 Senvion MM92 turbines with tip heights of 145 metres.
Deliveries are scheduled to start on 26 June with shipments from Swansea port continuing until 22 October.
The project is located in Brechfa Forest, 10km north east of Carmarthen, centred around the Afon Pib valley east of Alltwalis.
Brechfa project manager Bethan Edwards said: “Construction of Brechfa Forest West wind farm is well underway and turbine deliveries is the next key milestone for the project.
“Access tracks are taking shape and the foundations for the turbines are being prepared ahead of getting the turbines to site and putting them up.”
