The French Ministry for the Ecological and Inclusive Transition has procured approximately 750MW of wind and 630MW of ground-mounted photovoltaic capacity in its latest round of tenders.
Winning projects in the country’s fifth round of ‘national call for tenders for onshore wind’ include the 25.2MW Mont de Bezard 2 in the department of Marne and the 17.3MW Extension Seuil de Bapaume in Pas-de-Calais, both being developed by Boralex.
Other project winners include EPDR’s 21MW Ty Nevez Mouric in Cotes-d’Armor, the 30.8MW Luce 1, being developed by Enertrag in Somme, and Engie’s 17.6MW Chemin des Haguenets Sud in Oise.
Boralex’s PV projects, the 15.4MW Peyrolles en Provence in the department of Bouches-du-Rhone and the 12.5MW La Cle des Champs in Haute-Loire, were also among selected sites in the ministry’s ‘seventh round of call for tenders for ground-mounted solar’.
Other winners in this round include Engie, which secured over 90MW of capacity, the largest of which is the 27.3MW Parc D’Artillerie in Bouches-du-Rhone.
The projects awarded will receive a feed-in premium agreement over a period of 20 years from the date of commissioning.
Boralex vice president and general manager for Europe Nicolas Wolff said: “This success confirms that Boralex develops competitive projects, but also points out the vitality of solar power, a sector for which we have ambitious goals in France and in North America.
“For 20 years we have made a conscious effort to situate our projects locally, so that they promote jobs and economic benefits while allowing communities to fully engage with their objectives for the energy transition.”
