Nordex Group has introduced upgrades to its N175/6X turbine including a new power mode and additional tower configurations.
The company said the new 7.3MW power mode increases annual energy production by up to 1.7% while maintaining unchanged sound power levels.
Nordex added it has already secured more than 3GW of firm orders for the N175/6.X, highlighting strong market demand across a wide range of site conditions.
A new concrete-steel hybrid tower with a hub height of 162.5 metres is under development, with type approval scheduled for the second quarter of 2026 and first deliveries possible in the second half of the year.
In Germany, projects permitted to a maximum building height of 250 metres can use the N175/6.X with the 162.5-metre tower to benefit from increased energy yield, particularly at low to medium wind sites.
Nordex also received type approval from TÜV SÜD for a 179-metre hybrid concrete tower from partner Max Bögl at the WindEurope conference in Madrid on April 21, 2026.
The company said the certification is a prerequisite for approval and installation of the N175 turbine on this tower variant.
“With these developments, Nordex continues to focus on performance optimization, certification stability and customer-oriented solutions, reinforcing the competitiveness of the N175/6.X turbine and supporting reliable project execution in increasingly dynamic and opportunity-rich market environments”, said José Luis Blanco, chief executive officer of Nordex Group.
