Deutsche Windtechnik has been commissioned by municipal utility Varberg Energi to maintain wind turbines totalling 60MW in Sweden.
The hardware consists of 23 Vestas V90 machines and seven Gamesa G90 units, with an option for 12 additional turbines.
The service agreements are currently for 10 years, but could be extended to 20 years.
The turbines are spread across several wind farms. They are the Gummarasen and Sotared projects consisting of five V90s each, Torebo featuring four V90s, Munkagard and Bondegarde both comprising three V90s, Tangelsbol with two Vestas turbines, a single V90 at Stavhalla, four G90s at Dal and three more Gamesa machines at Faleberg.
Deutsche Windtechnik said the maintenance will be coordinated in close cooperation with its German parent company, while the number of service technicians in Sweden will be increased.
Deutsche Windtechnik managing director Linus Sturesson said: “We are currently planning to recruit seven more people in Sweden – service technicians as well as administration employees.”
