Deutsche Windtechnik is to provide full maintenance for the 28.3MW Buchonia wind farm at Rhon in the German state of Hesse from the day the project goes into operation.
The 20-year contract includes all maintenance, service work, upgrades and repairs on the nine Senvion 3.2M turbines.
The company added that it will also restore total write-offs and repair rotors and large components if required.
The deal means Deutsche Windtechnik becomes the first manufacturer-independent service provider to take over the complete service for a wind farm from the first day of operations.
It is also the first time that the company has been commissioned to provide maintenance on Senvion turbines.
Windpark Buchonia chief representative Marc Oeffner said: “Compared to the manufacturer’s offer, the overall package of services we will be receiving from Deutsche Windtechnik is at least equivalent, and the value-for-money ratio is very good.”
