Wise Power has launched WE Engage, an online tool that aims to foster public support for onshore wind power through information and advice.
WE Engage will provide communities, transmission system operators, developers and local authorities with information supporting stakeholders to learn from best practice when designing social engagement strategies for onshore wind projects.
Wise Power, an EU project aimed improving local engagement and support for wind, said: “The interactive platform creates a one-stop shop for information-sharing, and includes a strong focus on innovative financing through cooperatives and crowdfunding.”
Wise Power covers 13 EU countries: Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Romania, Spain and the UK.
UK partners include Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and the Scottish Government.
