WPD is to supply electricity to Engie Zielona Energia in Poland from the Jarocin Kozmin and Slupca-Kolaczkowo onshore wind farms under a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA).
The deal covers all the output from the projects, which are located in the Wielkopolskie region, and will see more than 900 gigawatt-hours of power supplied over the duration of the contract.
The 42.5MW Jarocin Kozmin is located approximately 11km southeast of the city of Jarocin and consists of 17 GE 2.5-120 turbines with hub heights of 120 metres.
The 45MW Slupca-Kolaczkowo is located about 60km east of Poznan and comprises 15 Vestas 117-3.0 machines with hub heights of 141 metres.
Construction of both started in the first quarter of 2020, with commissioning of the first turbine expected in the third quarter of this year.
