Xcel Energy’s 200MW Courtenay wind farm in North Dakota is fully operational.
The project comprises 100 Vestas V100 2MW turbines located on 25,000 acres owned by 60 landowners.
Xcel acquired the wind farm from developer Geronimo Energy in 2015, after entering into a long-term power purchase agreement with the company.
Wanzek Construction built the project, which employed 200 people during peak construction and has created 10 full-time jobs, Xcel said.
The wind farm will also generate about $850,000 a year in local tax revenues.
