European sustainable energy accelerator InnoEnergy has teamed up with the trade association for business angels, seed funds and early stage market players EBAN to form EBAN Energy, which aims to help drive low-carbon innovations to market.
The partnership will give EBAN’s network of business angels and InnoEnergy’s 170 plus sustainable energy start-ups a networking platform to work on alleviating common investment challenges, such as long lead-time to market, the capital-intensive nature of the industry and strict legislation.
InnoEnergy and EBAN will also educate EBAN’s business angels to ensure better understanding of the complex regulatory challenges associated with the sustainable energy industry.
InnoEnergy innovation director and executive board member Elena Bou said: “There are challenges for start-ups in any industry, but sustainable energy innovators are faced with a much longer list of hurdles that can make it difficult to achieve market potential.
“The launch of EBAN Energy will enable us to provide further support to our high-potential start-ups, helping to drive them to commercialisation.”
