Republic Services and Mas Energy have completed a 24.1MW landfill gas-to-energy project serving the metro area of Atlanta in the US.
The project involves facilities at three landfills in the cities of Buford, Griffin and Winder in Georgia.
Other partners involved in the project include Georgia Power, I Squared Capital, Crowder Construction Company and Nixon Energy.
Republic Services area president Jamey Amick said: “The modern landfill presents new opportunity to harness energy from yesterday’s waste and convert it to meet tomorrow’s energy needs.”
