Dansk Energi, Wind Denmark and Dansk Solkraft have initiated talks on a possible merger.
The trio said that the ongoing explorations will clarify what opportunities, perspectives and synergies there may be in establishing a common organisation that can “represent the entire value chain from development, production and export of energy technology over project development, renewable energy production to distribution and trade in energy”.
They said the overall ambition is to create a powerful association that accommodates everyone and puts green transformation, electrification and green growth at the forefront.
“The soundings are still at an initial stage, and a possible recommendation for a merger will first have to be considered by the boards of the respective associations,” the three organisations said.
The final decision will be made by the members of the three associations separately at a general meeting.
“Until there is an adopted recommendation from the boards of the three associations, we have no further comments,” they added.
