El Paso Electric has issued a request for proposals for renewable energy projects that can supply a minimum of 141,000 megawatt-hours of electricity a year from 2020 into the US state of New Mexico.
The company said it will consider a single source or a combination of projects to deliver the annual goal from solar and wind power combined with energy storage.
Proposals should have commercial operation dates (COD) before the end of 2020, but later dates up to 1 May, 2022 will be considered, if the economics of the proposals are higher due to the accelerated target date of 2020.
Bids must include plans for project execution, including long-lead equipment acquisition, permitting, transmission interconnection and/or upgrades and facility construction, to show how the COD will be met.
Interested parties have until 29 July to submit a proposal, with shortlisted projects revealed on 29 August.
Contract awards will be announced on 30 September.
