Atlantic Green has secured financing from Goldman Sachs for a battery storage project in the UK.
The developer has secured £16.5m from Goldman Sachs for its 60MWh Buxton development, located in Derbyshire, which is now in the advanced stages of construction.
Goldman Sachs managing director Ingmar Grebien said: “We are excited to execute this transaction with Atlantic Green providing the Buxton project with an innovative package of project financing combined with route-to-market services.
“We believe that automated real time trading with expert market overlay is key to the successful management of flexible assets that are critical to the energy transition.”
Expected energisation will commence in the first quarter of 2024.
The Buxton site encompasses room for landscape planting and ecological enhancements, demonstrating a proactive commitment to achieving biodiversity net gains.
The project is part of Atlantic Green’s 1GWh energy storage portfolio, including the 698MWh Cellarhead development.
