Balance Power has been granted development approval by Test Valley Council for a 50MW/100 megawatt-hour battery storage project at Upton Lane in Hampshire, England.
The project was met with support from the local community and will begin construction later in the year, the company said.
Balance Power has now taken 32 energy projects through to planning consent, delivering 352MW.
A further 1200MW of battery storage and solar projects are under development nationwide, it added.
Balance Power chief executive Phil Thompson said: “Our mission is to power a carbon-free future for everybody, without sacrificing the unique biodiversity and beauty here in the UK.
“As environmental pressures are rightly leading to outdated, polluting generators being decommissioned, it is vital these old sources of energy are replaced with a mix of clean and renewable alternatives.
“Against the backdrop of the ongoing energy crisis, we are proud of our work with Test Valley Council.
“The project will play a vital role in balancing distribution, stabilising the grid, and protecting consumers from fuel poverty over the long term.”
