French company Suncnim and state-owned investment bank Bpifrance have achieved €60m financial close on the project company eLlo set up to build and operate a concentrated solar energy plant in the Pyrenees.
The 9MW Llo project will be the world’s first Fresnel solar thermodynamic power plant with the capacity to store about four hours of energy.
The thermal energy produced will be converted to electricity via a steam generation process.
Suncnim chairman Roger Pujol said: “The plant will be the world’s first in terms of technology.”
