US energy storage company Powin is supplying a 10MW/10 megawatt hour system to GlidePath Power for a project in Texas, US.
The distributed battery system will be constructed this year in the service territory of grid operator Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT).
Illinois-based GlidePath is a portfolio company of Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
The system will use lithium iron phosphate batteries, which are suitable for longer-duration applications.
GlidePath has developed over 100MW of commercially operating battery projects.
The company has more than 1GW of greenfield development pipeline of battery storage projects across the US in addition to an operating portfolio of more than 400MW of wind, solar and storage facilities that it acquired over the past 15 months.
