RPower has launched the divestment process for a 200MW/400MWh ready-to-build battery energy storage project in Romania.
The company said the sale is part of its strategy of asset rotation and portfolio diversification across different geographies.
Located near Bucharest, a key hub of the Romanian energy system, the project will provide flexibility to support grid stability and advance the country’s energy transition.
R.Power is expanding its presence in Romania across the photovoltaics and storage sectors, supported by a physical office in Bucharest.
The company is preparing to energise its first Romanian solar projects – Stalpu, Suseni, Dudesti and Punghina – and will soon begin construction of its 254MWh Scornicesti BESS.
Romania will become R.Power’s third market with operational assets, following Poland and Portugal.
R.Power said energy storage is central to its growth model, representing more than half of its 30GW-plus development pipeline across six European countries.
In Romania, the company is developing both standalone storage and hybrid systems integrating batteries with photovoltaic farms.
Over the coming years, R.Power aims to expand its integrated capacity in the country into the multi-gigawatt range, reinforcing Romania’s position as a Central and Eastern European leader in the energy transition.
