SSE Renewables has chosen Morrison Energy Services and Sungrow as partners for a 320MW battery project in the UK.
The Monk Fryston battery energy storage system (BESS) will be built in Monk Fryston, north Yorkshire.
Morrison Energy Services, a part of M Group Services’ Energy Division, has been appointed as the project’s principal contractor.
Sungrow, who is also working with SSE Renewables on its nearby Ferrybridge battery storage project, will once again supply the battery energy storage system.
SSE Renewables took a final investment decision on the project back in November 2023 and the site aims to energise in late 2025.
