Italian energy company Eni tripled its installed renewables capacity in 2021 to 1140MW from 330MW in 2020.
Eni said in its 2021 results that renewables capacity rises to over 2GW including projects under construction.
Acquisitions included nine projects from Azora Capital in Spain comprising three operating wind farms and one under construction for a total of 234MW and five solar farms with combined capacity of 900MW.
Eni also bought Dhamma Energy Group, owner of a pipeline of photovoltaic projects in France and Spain with a target installed capacity of about 3GW.
Since the end of 2021, Eni has acquired the Greek company Solar Konzept Greece, owner of a portfolio of photovoltaic plants in Greece with a pipeline of projects targeting about 800MW.
The company also finalised the acquisition of a 20% stake in the 1.2GW Dogger Bank C offshore wind farm off east England.
