Eurowind Energy and Capstone Infrastructure Corporation have set up a US renewables joint venture targeting a 1GW pipeline.
The new company between the Danish renewables developer and the Canadian independent power producer is developing more than 1GW of new renewable energy projects in California, consisting of battery storage, wind and solar.
Eurowind and Capstone have equal interest in the projects, which are in the early stages of development.
Bo Scholer, President, Eurowind Energy US Development, said: “The opportunity to join forces with Capstone was a major contributing factor in the timing of our entry to the US market.
“We have come to appreciate the outlook and professionalism of the Capstone team, and we look forward to working with Capstone to progress the projects to construction.
“Eurowind Energy is committed to the US market and the collaboration with Capstone is an important part of our development pipeline.”
The projects in California are being advanced with the original developer, Wind Works Power Corporation.
