Norwegian company Aker Offshore Wind made a loss of over Nkr104m (€10m) in the second quarter of 2021, raising overall losses for the year to almost Nkr157m.
Revenue was more than Nkr1.15m from 1 April to 30 June, but the company made an operating loss of over Nkr78.6m in the period.
Revenue for the first half of the year was Nkr1.7m, with the operating loss for that period standing at more than Nkr120.5m.
Aker Offshore Wind said the revenue for 2021 represented hours charged for a project in South Korea.
It said the company is currently in a growth phase and so the loss results from salary and personnel costs, business development and costs associated with M&A activity.
In the whole of 2020, Aker Offshore Wind reported a loss of close to Nkr69.6m.
Aker Offshore Wind chief executive Astrid Skarheim Onsum said: “We have taken significant steps this quarter in furthering our planned licence applications by teaming up with reputable partners in Norway and Scotland.
“In both geographies, Aker’s unparalleled deep-water expertise, offshore capabilities and technologies are true differentiators.
“We believe the partnerships with BP and Statkraft in Norway and Ocean Winds in Scotland bring invaluable and complementary capabilities to our projects and provide a winning combination.”
