A consortium planning an offshore wind farm off Dunkirk in France has signed an agreement with crowdfunding platform Enerfip that could allow local people to support the project’s development.
The Moulin de Flandre consortium, which comprises DEME Group, Quadran Energies Marines and Shell, is one of the bidders aiming to develop a 500MW project off northern France in the country’s Round 3 offshore process.
Under the terms of the deal, a crowdfunding campaign would be launched if Moulin de Flandre is successful in its bid. The winner is expected to be announced later this year.
The campaign would enable residents in Dunkirk and the Hauts de France region to support the project.
Residents can already express an interest with Enerfip regarding the project, ahead of a government decision on the Dunkirk wind farm.
