GE Renewable Energy reported a loss of $151m in its third quarter earnings, compared with a loss of $51m for the same period in 2020.
The third quarter 2021 loss margin increased to 3.6% from 1.1% in the same period in 2020.
Orders were up for the quarter to 6588 from 3981 in the third quarter of last year.
Highlights include an order to proceed on supplying Vineyard Wind in the US with 62 Haliade-X 13MW turbines, plus the signing of a memorandum of understanding with PKN ORLEN to support the development of offshore wind projects in Poland.
In the third quarter GE Renewable Energy also announced planning approval for its Teesside offshore wind blade manufacturing plant in the UK and signed a contract for service operation vessel to commission 80 Haliade 150-6MW turbines at the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm, France.
In onshore wind highlights of the third quarter included an order from JSW Energy, one of India’s leading power companies, to supply 810MW of onshore wind turbines for wind projects in Tamil Nadu and being chosen by European Energy to supply another 34 Cypress turbines for three additional wind farms in Lithuania.
