SaraBy SaraAugust 10, 20232 Mins Read
COVID-19: PNE may push projects back to 2021

In the first half of 2023, PNE Group achieved E18m in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA), a half a million euro increase compared with the same period in 2022.

The company posted revenues of €57.1m in the first half of 2023, compared with €52.1m in the same period of 2022.

“We are well on track with the strategic expansion of our three business segments Project Development, Power Generation and Services despite the strong increase in material prices and extended supply chains,” said PNE chief executive Markus Lesser (pictured).

He added: “In addition, we were able to increase our project pipeline to a new record level. We expect the majority of revenues in the Project Development segment to be generated in the second half of the year.”

The nominal capacity of the pipeline for wind and photovoltaic projects increased from 9055MW to 16,590MW compared to the same period last year.

Onshore wind energy projects accounted for 8622MW.

The pipeline of offshore wind energy projects also filled up again at 2500MW.

The pipeline for PV projects reached 5468MW.

In Germany alone, PNE Group worked on wind farms with a nominal capacity of 2314MW (prior year, 1949MW).

Seven sites with a nominal capacity of 112.3MW were under construction in Germany and one project with 10.8MW in France.

A 60MW wind farm erected on behalf of a customer is under construction in Sweden.

The wind farm portfolio operated by PNE had a capacity of around 346MW at the end of the first half of the year.

A total of around 308MW is under construction or in the construction preparation phase for the own generation portfolio so that PNE expects to commission further wind farms in its own portfolio this year.
