Sales from EDF’s renewables group rose slightly in the third quarter of 2020 to €2972m, compared with €2932m in the same period last year.
The French company said the increase was down to wind and solar farms commissioned in 2019 and better generating conditions for both technologies in the period.
It noted that lower hydro prices in France had had a negative impact on the figures, although output was up 24% on last year.
The gross portfolio of projects under construction continued to grow, reaching 6.7GW, EDF said.
This is made up of 3.5GW in onshore wind, 1.6GW in offshore wind, 1.3GW in solar and 0.3GW in storage.
Overall, EDF’s total sales were down 4% to just under €48.85bn from more than €50.96bn in 2019.
This was mainly due to lower nuclear output, a drop in demand affecting electricity distribution and supply activities, as well as the slowdown or postponement of on-site works and service activities with customers.
Meanwhile, EDF Renewables announced it has secured the rights to develop two solar farms in France totalling 23MW.
They are a 12.8MW development near Beaurepaire in the Vendee region and a 10.3MW facility in the municipality of Saumur.
Construction is expected to start next year.
