Germany’s Federal Network Agency has published maximum values for renewable energy tenders for 2024.
The maximum bidding rate has been set at €0.0735/kWh for onshore wind energy, €0.0737/kWh for ground-mounted solar and €0.1050/kWh for rooftop solar.
The values set for the tenders for onshore wind turbines and ground-mounted solar plants correspond to the increased values applicable this year, which were also set by the Federal Network Agency.
The Federal Network Agency is reacting to the increased costs for the construction and operation of the plants since the last legal provision, including the increased interest costs for the financing of the plants.
These have risen so much profitable operation of newly planned plants with legal maximum values would not be possible to the extent required for the energy transition, it stated.
Without the new determinations, the maximum values would have fallen back to the significantly lower regulated values provided for in the Renewable Energy Sources Act.
This would be €0.0588/kWh for onshore wind energy, €0.0590/kWh for ground-mounted solar and €0.0891/kWh for rooftop solar systems.
“We ensure reliable framework conditions for tenders,” said Federal Network Agency president Klaus Müller.
“The maximum values take into account the actual costs of renewables.”
