Google’s global operations, including data centers and offices, will be 100% supplied by renewable energy in 2017.
The company said it signed its first contract for renewable power from an 114MW wind farm in Iowa in 2010.
Google’s clean power commitments now reach 2.6GW from 20 wind and solar projects, the company added.
It said that the purchasing commitments amount to more than $3.5bn, with about two-thirds in the US.
