Swedish renewables software specialist Greenbyte has set up a US office in Chicago, Illinois.
The company will use the office as a regional hub for the nationwide rollout of its Greenbyte Energy Cloud, a monitoring and asset management platform for renewable energy portfolio owners and independent power producers.
The office will host a sales, support and customer service centre dedicated to North American customers of the company.
The company says its growing US team has a “wealth of renewables experience” and will work with US businesses to implement the monitoring and asset management platform.
Greenbyte Energy Cloud has been designed to provide asset managers and portfolio operators with a single, user-friendly point of access to data from a different sources, ranging from on-site resource measurements and SCADA to third-party data analytics services.
The software will enable US-based customers to monitor and manage all renewable energy types, including storage assets.
Greenbyte’s existing US clients include Longroad Energy, a developer and operator managing a portfolio of 1.5GW of operational wind and solar projects across the country, including over 800MW for third party owners.
The company is using Energy Cloud as a hub for all critical performance data, supporting asset management, operations and maintenance and remote monitoring of its asset base.
Longroad Energy asset management vice president Jeremy Law said: “Having used the system for nearly two years, we are starting to generate wide-ranging efficiency gains across our business that translate directly into increased performance and availability for our assets.”
