Invenergy has acquired a renewable energy transmission project in New Jersey from Blackstone Infrastructure Partners.
Invenergy has renamed the early-stage project as Jersey Link. It was previously known as Atlantic Power Transmission.
Blackstone Infrastructure Partners will continue to support the site moving forward.
As New Jersey pursues the addition of 11GW of offshore wind by 2040, Jersey Link is a scalable HVDC transmission link that will allow for the integration of up to 3600MW of offshore wind into New Jersey’s grid.
“This announcement underscores Invenergy’s continued commitment to building the critical infrastructure required to advance the offshore wind and transmission goals of New Jersey, and the US at large,” said senior project director for Jersey Link Robert Taylor.
“Invenergy’s deeply experienced team will ensure Jersey Link cost-effectively delivers offshore wind power to shore, invests in coastal and inland communities, and advances workforce development opportunities throughout the state.”
