TenneT has opened a public consultation on the possible grid connection routes for the proposed IJmuiden Ver offshore wind site off the Dutch coast.
Interested parties have until 2 May to comment on potential route options.
IJmuiden Ver is part of the Dutch government’s proposed 7GW expansion of offshore wind between 2024 and 2030.
It would include two wind farms – Alpha and Beta – with a combined capacity of around 4GW.
Alpha is proposed to be ready in 2027, with Beta operational in 2029.
TenneT said it would build two offshore converter stations, as well as onshore substations on approximately 5.5 hectares of land to connect the wind farms.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate and TenneT will process the responses and, in consultation with regional governments, record the most promising routes in a draft document to be put together after the summer.
The document will then be available for inspection and will feed into an environmental impact study.
