The subsea power cable for National Grid and ScottishPower’s £1bn Western Link transmission project has come ashore in Scotland.
The 385km electricity cable has reached Ardneil Bay in North Ayrshire.
It’s a crucial part of the transmission scheme that will bring renewable energy from Scotland to homes and businesses in England and Wales, ScottishPower said.
Construction is being carried out by Siemens and Prysmian.
