Innergex Renewable Energy has started commercial operations at the 21.2MW Tretheway Creek run-of-river hydroelectric facility in British Columbia, Canada.
The facility is located on Crown land approximately 50km north of the community of Harrison Hot Springs.
Construction began in 2013 and was completed in mid-October, on time and approximately $7m under budget.
All of the electricity produced by Tretheway Creek is covered by a 40-year fixed-price power purchase agreement with BC Hydro.
Innergex president and chief executive officer Michel Letellier said: “This project was realized thanks to the support and collaboration of the Douglas and S’tailes First Nations, with whom we enjoy solid long-term relations.”
