Finnish consultant Poyry has won an engineering contract for the 650MW Nam Theun 1 hydro project in Laos.
The company will provide owner’s engineer services to lead developer Phonesack Group, it said without disclosing the order value.
Pöyry has been associated with the project since 1995, providing technical consultancy and basic engineering services.
It will now complete the owner’s engineer services as well as the project’s environmental and social mitigation measures until its completion.
The facility in the Nam Kading river is scheduled to start operating by the end of 2022.
