RWE has appointed Gilkes UK Hydro and Farrans to build the 2MW Grudie hydro project in the Scottish Highlands.
Construction of the project near Loch Maree in Wester Ross will kick off in the near future ahead of commissioning next year.
Grudie is a run of river installation and will feature an intake weir, buried pipeline and semi-buried powerhouse.
Grid connection will be via the local distribution network.
RWE is the only remaining utility developer of hydro projects in Scotland.
