DNV GL has awarded a component certificate to Spanish technology company Ingeteam for its latest wind frequency converter.
Certification of the Ingecon wind full converter MV series 3000-10000 means it meets all global requirements for on and offshore applications, Ingeteam said.
The converter is the first electrical component certified according to DNV GL’s new scheme for type and component certification of wind turbines, known as DNVGL-SE-0441.
DNV GL head of certification body Mike Wöbbeking said: “We are very pleased to continue our good working relationship with Ingeteam and supporting the company in their goal to demonstrate that their latest converter is meeting the highest safety and reliability requirements, to deliver high performance.”
