NYSERDA has concluded New York’s seventh annual solicitation for large-scale onshore renewable energy projects.
It has provisionally awarded 24 projects to support the continued development of large-scale onshore wind and solar resources in New York toward the achievement of the state’s Climate Act goals.
These 24 provisional awards, issued as part of an expedited solicitation, include nearly 2.4GW of mature, late-stage schemes, some of which could be completed and operating as early as 2025.
NYSERDA is now moving to negotiate and execute contracts with the provisionally awarded counterparties over the next few months.
In parallel with these provisional awards, NYSERDA is advancing a process to inform its eighth annual solicitation for large-scale renewables, planned to be issued in second quarter 2024.
It is launching a Request for Information (RFI) seeking stakeholder feedback to inform the final schedule and key elements of the 2024 Tier 1 land-based renewables solicitation, with responses due back by 13 May.
