Orsted has confirmed that it is in late-stage negotiations regarding a potential acquisition of French/German onshore power platform Ostwind.
Orsted said it is in talks with Ostwind and shareholders Gisela Wendling-Lenz, Ulrich Lenz, and Fabien Kayser in relation to acquiring 100% of Ostwind Erneuerbare Energien, Ostwindpark Rotmainquelle, Ostwind International and Ostwind Engineering.
The Ostwind sale was first reported exclusively in the subscriber-only newsletter renews.
Orsted said: “There can be given no assurances as to whether a transaction will be concluded and the timing hereof.
“As communicated at Orsted’s Capital Markets Day 2021, we are continuously looking to expand our onshore business in Europe.
Orsted said the announcement of the potential acquisition does not change the company’s outlook for the 2022 financial year or the expected investment level announced for 2022.
