Pattern Energy made a net loss of $44.7m in the first half of 2016, compared with a loss of $16.4m in the same period of 2017.
The company said this was mainly due to projects acquired since May 2015 or that became operational in late 2015.
Additional costs came from “increases in other expense items related to interest expense and net losses on undesignated derivatives”, Pattern said.
However, adjusted EBITDA increased to $157m in the period from $113.6m last year, the company said.
It sold 3516GWh of electricity between 1 January and 30 June, up from 2161GWh in the first six months of 2015.
The company said it added 272MW of owned capacity in the first half of the year, bringing its total capacity to 2554GW.
Meanwhile, Pattern has officially opened the 150MW Fowler Ridge wind farm for Amazon in Indiana.
The facility, which will sell 100% of the electricity produced to Amazon Web Services, consists of 65 Siemens 2.3MW turbines.
